Pakistan produces 40% of the world's football, yet their Global Gender Gap Index ranks 148 in 149 countries. Half of the women in Pakistan cannot afford sanitary products and girls are suspended from school during their period.
Fair Trade's mission is to minimize the exploitation of producers by providing safe workplaces for workers and farmers in developing countries and ensures a fair return for their labor. This week, Fair Trade is bringing the handmade footballs made by Pakistan women to THE FOREST. The profit from the football charity sales will goes back to the Pakistan producers to provide for their sanitary needs.
